PURPOSE

According to European standard EN 858-1 hydrocarbon separators are designed to treat rainwater, snowmelt and post-processing water from areas threatened with contamination by oil-based substances, e.g. petrol stations, car parks, car washes, industrial plants, fuel storage centres, roads, etc.

They shall have an oil content of less than 5 mg/dm³ at the outlet.
